Medical Benefits Administrators of MD, Inc. (MBA)
is an employee benefit administration firm which provides state of
the art group
employer/employee benefit administration services. Our services
assist both large and small businesses and national associations
by offering
flexible benefit plan designs and consulting services. We deliver
these services with expertise and technology and employers and
employees can be assured their medical benefit program will be managed
in a
cost effective manner.
What we do
Our benefit administrative services do not stop
at plan design and consultation. We offer a variety of administrative
services. From
enrollment to processing medical claims, MBA works to exceed the
employer’s expectation with every encounter.
MBA assigns every client a Group Service Representative
team who will guide the employer through the enrollment process.
These knowledgeable
team members know the ins and outs of enrollment procedures and
handle day-to-day needs and answer questions.
Employee’s needs are addressed by MBA’s Customer Service
Department. Extended service hours give participants the flexibility
to call at their convenience. What’s more, representatives
have access to real-time claims information, meaning 95% of employee
inquiries can be resolved with one phone call and within minutes.
Claim processing is an important part of what
we do. But MBA does more than just “process” a claim. We strive to provide
businesses and associations with peace of mind. We do this in two
ways – experienced claims examiners and the smartest technology.
Our examiners have an average of 10 years of medical claims processing
experience. Medical claims are processed through QicLink, either
via ClaimsLink electronic receipt or by HCFA or UB92 input. ClaimsLink
is an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) clearing house. Once each
claim is processed MBA receives an electronic receipt. By using this
industry standard processing service and employing expert claims
examiners, we can track claims at every point in the process and
consistently receive a near 100% accuracy rating.
MBA also provides utilization review and case
management through a relationship with Strategic Health Development
Corporation (SHDC).
SHDC provides national 24hr/7days pre-certification, utilization
management, peer review and large case management services. Pre-certification
of hospital stays and outpatient surgery allows for early identification
of major health concerns, monitoring of acute care, and planning
of appropriate post discharge care, in an attempt to return a patient
to an optimum quality of life.
MBA retains two outside actuaries to provide actuarial
services in conjunction with all of its benefit business.
MBA takes an active role in helping employers
manage plan costs and deliver administrative services intended to
directly and indirectly
control rising healthcare costs. Every client is entitled to a
complimentary mid-year plan review that includes a claim cost and
utilization analysis,
plan design review and multi-year plan strategy. Lastly, we custom
fit medical benefit services to best meet employer needs and welcome
